CUSTOMIZING YOUR WINDOWS LIVE CALENDAR BADGE

Add comments

My final post talked about how to emanate the monthly monthly monthly monthly monthly calendar badge. Assuming you’ve right away combined the cold brand brand new badge, we substantially wish to customize it so which it matches your website.

You need to know the small simple HTML. Follow these stairs to give your pinned token the brand brand new look:

1. First we need to confirm what to uncover in your badge. The pinned token displays both the monthly monthly monthly monthly monthly calendar grid as well as the eventuality list by default.  To uncover usually the grid, supplement the question parameter “l=m” to the iframe tag.  To uncover usually the eventuality list, supplement “l=a” instead.

2. Next we can select the breadth of your badge. There have been dual choices:  141 pixels or 194 pixels. To have it 141 pixels, supplement the question parameter “w=n”; to go wider during 194 pixels, shift it to “w=w”.

3. You can additionally select the tallness of the eventuality list. There have been 4 opposite heights to select from:

a. For the reduced eventuality list (shows the single event): Add “h=s”

b. For middle (3 events): Add “h=m”

c. For medium-tall (5 events): Add “h=mt”

d. For high (7 events): Add “h=t”

The series of events shown is approximate.  The distance of the badge’s monthly monthly monthly monthly monthly calendar grid is not influenced by the tallness of the eventuality list.

4. Now it’s time to give your pinned token the little color. There have been 6 colors in the pinned token which we can change:

Generate the HTML tone IDs for your 6 colors as well as afterwards pass them in the question parameter, creation certain to leave out the “#” which is routinely partial of the tone code. It should demeanour similar to this:

c=<backgroundColorId>|<borderColorId>|<textColorId>|<alternateTextColorId>|<linkColorId>|<selectionColorId>

Note: We usually accept the 3 or six-digit numeric tone codes, not the tone names.

Finally, the iframe itself has measure as well as borders which can usually be tranquil by your page’s code.  You’ll need to set the iframe’s distance so which your pinned token will fit. Also, give it the support limit of 0 as well as set scrolling to “no”. You can do this with true HTML or the multiple of HTML as well as CSS.

Let’s put this all together in an example. We’ll emanate the tall, far-reaching pinned token with both the monthly monthly monthly monthly monthly calendar grid as well as eventuality list. We’ll have the credentials white as well as the borders as well as categorical content black. We’ll give it gray swap text, lavender links, as well as the bluish day preference highlight. Substitute in your own user formula as well as monthly monthly monthly monthly monthly calendar name (see this post for how to get those), as well as your badge’s iframe tab will demeanour similar to this:

<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="194" height="692" src="http://calendar.live.com/calendar/badgeif.aspx?pid=p&user=<userCode>&cal=<calendarName>&h=t&w=w&l=ma&c=ffffff|000000|000000|cccccc|9999ff|ddeeff" />

That’s all there is to it. Happy customizing!

I am able to put the badge into my Microsoft Live website, however when I try to customize it, I get the Windows Live Calendar not working right now message. I think it’s because the CSS is supposed to go into a different place. Could you tell me what the CSS code would be just on it’s own? Thank you.
